What Is KICKSTART ONLINE (KSO)?
Kickstart Online (KSO) is a series of OPE电子竞技官网 courses that are scheduled for college-ready high school students to kickstart their college degree. These online college courses are provided in a 15-week format, count toward most OPE电子竞技官网 degrees, are transferable to many four-year institutions and are offered by NDE certified OPE电子竞技官网 instructors.
How Is Credit Earned?
College credits earned through Kickstart Online will appear on a student’s OPE电子竞技官网 transcript. OPE电子竞技官网 credits earned may transfer to other colleges or universities. To learn about transferability at local four-year colleges, please visit our 转移 Partner and Pathways webpage. It's important to remember that the grades earned while taking a college credit course will count toward the student's college grade point average (GPA) and will be a permanent part of their postsecondary transcript. High school credit for KSO courses are not automatically earned. 学生 should check with their counselor about dual credit options.

Current Nebraska High School students, 九至十二年级, are automatically eligible to take credit classes at 无学费. 学生 in 9th grade become eligible for the tuition waiver in OPE电子竞技官网's Fall term. 学生 will be responsible for tools, textbooks, and any other associated course fees. 学费 for dual enrolled students will be paid for by federal funding, directed by the State and CCPE. 了解更多 about the tuition waiver.
STUDENT EXPECTATIONS
Courses offered at Metropolitan 社区 College (OPE电子竞技官网) have college-level content, 主题, expectations and standards, and students will be graded accordingly. It is the responsibility of the student to comply with OPE电子竞技官网’s student code of conduct and all standards set forth in the course syllabus. 下 Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the student controls access to their college records and parent(s)/legal guardian may not have access without completion of the Authorization to Release Student Information form.

If a student is attending a postsecondary institution - at any age - the 权利 under FERPA have transferred to the student. If a student under the age of 18 is enrolled in both a high school and a postsecondary institution, the parents still retain the right under FERPA at the high school, 然而, the postsecondary 权利 belong to the student. 学生 who wish to grant parental or 3rd party access to their educational records may do so by submitting an Authorization to Release Student Information Form to the Records Office after course registration is complete.
